Dually Diagnosed

The Dually Diagnosed program, developed in 2006, is similar to our one-to-one supportive friendship matches, with the addition that the Consumer has been diagnosed with either an alcohol or drug addiction.  To become a volunteer for this rewarding program, there is an additional training required that is presented by a local substance abuse professional.  

Consumers in this program are currently in treatment for both mental health and substance abuse and have been free of drugs and alcohol for at least 6 months before entering the Compeer program.
